A Kuhaylan bred by the 'Anazah and imported in 1897 to India by Major-General R. Broome, Director-General of the Remount. Imported in 1901 to England by Mrs. F.G. Atkinson and presented to the Prince of Wales during World War I, in whose ownership he died in 1921. NOTES: The above information is from Dwarka's entry in Weatherby's General Stud Book, Vol. XXV (1925), p994. Sold to Mrs. F. G. Atkinson and exported to England, Dwarka became famous as a sidesaddle field hunter. In 1916 he was presented to the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII) and stood at his Tor Royal Stud. Dwarka sired purebred foals from the Prince’s Arabian mares.
