Seems this mare mentioned many times by Lady Anne Blunt, as the "white original mare of Khalil Al Khalil el Hajry, Sheikh of Beni Hajar, said to be pearl divers" (J.&C. pag 329) is the foundation mare of the branch of Dahman Najib in Abbas Pasha first and Ali Pasha Sherif then breeding programs. This "white mare" is the dam of both the fleabitten grey stallion Sottam and the bay Bint Nura. Raswan identified this "white mare" with the name of Shalfa. Al Khamsa identified her with the collettive name of Nura El Kebira ( as Nura the oldest" ) in sense that she was the founder mare of the many "Banat Nura" described by Lady Anne Blunt.

Following the studies of Edouard Al Dahdah (see his book "The Arabian Horses of Abbas Pasha", pag 53) this mare referred as t"he white Dahmeh Nejiba of Khlil El Hairy" was in truth a Dahmah Shahwaniyah from the Kunayhir strain, not of Al Najib. Her line is carried on through her son, the stallion Sottam of Ali Pasha Sherif and Sottam's sons: Ibn Nura and Ibn Sherara.
