Lady Anne Blunt [J&C: 3/10/1907], at Prince Ahmad's stud, describes Tarfa as chestnut with a blaze, five and a half years of age, a Kuhaylah Mimrihiyah by Dahman El Azrak. Lady Anne [J&C, 12.17.1907] indicates that the same mare has been moved to Prince Mohamed Aly's stables. Later [J&C, 12.22.1908], Lady Anne again mentions the mare at Prince Mohamed Aly's, also referring to the colt, apparently meaning Mashkour (APK). From these references, it seems clear that Tarfa was bred by Prince Ahmad and transferred to Prince Mohamed Aly when an adult mare. (Al Khamsa)
