Comment:
Lady Anne Blunt [J&C 12.6.1890] indicates she knew Koheilan El Mossen under the name of Mas'aud, who was sold by Sennari to "the government" [J&C 12.10.1892]. Pearson [1988, pXXVIII] says Koheilan El Mossen went to Khedive Abbas II. On 11/27/1909, Lady Anne says that he was one of the "well-known horses brought by E... from the desert to Sennari." In her 1911 Sheykh Obeyd catalog, Lady Anne describes this horse as "the well-known Grey Kehilan Messenneh, brought from Arabia by Fahad." Ahmed Bey Sennari was a neighbor of the Blunts in Egypt. Lady Anne describes Koheilan El Mossen on J&C: pag 215, 11 March 1891 " The Keh Mesenneh is certainly a good horse and as his owner said with pride so gentle" J&C pag. 298, 9 March 1904: "a handsome and very strong, but wanting somewhat in quality”
