Following the path of Edouard Al Dahdah, in his book The Abbas Pasha Manuscript Volume II, the 1860 Abbas Pasha Sale List, Ghazieh is the mare n° 38 in the Abbas Pasha Sale List, the zarqa (grey) mare of Mufaddi Ibn Rashid. Her father can be Al Aswad and her dam Al Humayrah, the hamra (bay) mare of Ali Ibn Sudan, imported in Egypt by Abbas Pasha, under the n° 40 in the sale list. Particular is the explanation of the names: Al Aswad (her father), her daughter Sawdah and her son Sueyd: all these three names are the masculine (Aswad),the feminine (Sawdah) and the diminuitive masculine forms of the word "dark" in Arabic.
