Ibn Nura ( Sottam x Bint Nura Bay) born about 1876 Dahman Najib. A photograph of a Blunt herdbook entry (see Desert Heritage: An Artist’s Collection of Blunt’s Original Arab Horses, pag. 8) describes IBN NURA as “a fleabitten white Dahman Nejib ,his dam Bint Nura a bay Dahmeh Nejiba by [illegible in reproduction] out of Nura a grey Dahmeh Nejiba… His sire Sottam a grey fleabitten Dahman Nejib, bred by Ali Pasha Sherif. Sire of Sottam: Sueyd a fleabitten Seglawi Jedran (original horse) from Ibn Sudan of the Roala tribe. Dam of Sottam: the grey Dahmeh Najiba (original mare) of Khalil Al Hajry, a Sheikh of Beni Hajar. Lady Anne Blunt remembers of Ibn Nura: "A fleabitten white. Magnificent horse, head splendid and splendily set on; neck shoulder and style perfection. Purchased January 15, 1897 at the first auction of the remnant of Ali Pasha Sherif's stud by order of the curator Sabit Pasha, at the stables of the Daira, in the Ismailia quarter of Cairo. Ibn Nura died in the spring of 1903. Lady Anne Blunt remarks about the pedigree of Ibn Nura, on her Sheikh Obeyd StudBook "I doubt it as if so Ibn Nura is more inbred than fancy Ali Pasha Sherif would have fancied”. Seems that the mother of Ibn Nura is the same mother of Bint Bint Nura Es Shakra: this Bint Nura Bay, daughter of the grey Dahmeh Najiba (original mare) of Khalil Al Hajry, a Sheikh of Beni Hajar.
